On the 18th of November, Red Hot Chilli Peppers released their Greatest Hits album which to me is one of the greatest best-of compilation albums ever made. This album integrates the best songs of previous albums as far as their 1992 album Blood Sugar Sex Magik ,all the way up to their 2002 album By the Way with song classics including Under the Bridge, Californication, Scar Tissue and Otherside.

This band of lyrical and musical geniuses puts a funky twist in their rock music, and many of these songs exposes the pure talent of this 4 man band of brothers.  The 3rd song on this album, Californication, combines the lyrical and vocal talents of Anthony Kiedis with the melodious sounds of the guitarist Josh Klinghoffer as he has about a 30 second solo to show off his musical talents not to mention Josh Klinghoffer and bassist Michael Balzary aka ‘flea’, combining their musical brilliance to create a smooth funky rock beat in the song Scar Tissue from the 1999 album Californication.

Anthony Kiedis sang and lyricized a song of great meaning and emotion in Red Hot Chilli Peppers song Under The Bridge which was released in their 1992 album Blood Sugar Sex Magik but also was included in their Greatest Hits Album.. It is a song of depth, high emotions and loneliness as Kiedis reflects the impact that drugs have played in his own life. It is a story about how Kiedis had maintained sobriety for about 3 years and how it created distance between him and his other band members.  This song is one of the 4 man rock band’s most successful songs they have made making the number 2 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and also won them 2 awards at the MTV Video Music Awards.

After listening to this whole album of their greatest, most memorable and popular songs of the bands career, it is no wonder that the Red Hot Chilli Peppers band was inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame in 2012 and have won 7 Grammy Awards. This album will always be one of my favourite albums but in my own opinion it is one of the greatest albums of all time.

The Red Hot Chilli Peppers Greatest Hits album , released in 2003, is a collection of their greatest songs since from their 1992 album, Blood Sugar Sex Magik up until their 2003 album Californication.
