1. Hong Kong Protests continue 

The pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong have now reached their 5th day. Protesting is the most common form of activism and being in China (although Hong Kong has separate laws) and involving democracy, this story is absolutely essential for the beat.

2. Post Office Strike not ending soon 

Although the amount of post is decreasing, The Post Office and its systems are still used by many South Africans to transport often vital documents. The strike has had a negative effect on at least 37 branches in and around Johannesburg, this has therefore caused trouble to several business and Universities who are now awaiting urgent documents.  The workers are demanding not only higher wages but also permanent positions.

3. 1 in 4 Khayelitsha toilets work 

A report released by the Social Justice Coalition has revealed shocking details that the majority of toilets in Khayelitsha are not functioning and exceptionally unsanitary. I have chosen this link as people have the right to ablution facilities that are operational.
